Well, this is the slightly self-indulgant bit where I talk about myself. I quite like Keane, and this is a Keane site, so here is a mini 'Keane CV':

• January 2004 to October 2006 - Moderator and adminstrator for the official website forum
• May 2004 to May 2006 - Answered questions from fans via chris@keanemusic.com address displayed on the website (it's not used anymore)
• August 2007 - Conducted lengthy interviews with each member of the band for features on the official website

• March 2004 to present - created and maintained the popular (and first ever) Keane fan website, keaneshaped.co.uk. (This is it. The name Keaneshaped is a 'pun' on the Keane song, Bedshaped). Up until around 2006, the FAQ was linked from the official site
• July 2004 to October 2004 - involved with, helped organise and contributed to the first Keane fanzine, The Walnut Tree
• April 2008 to present - I am half of popular Keane podcast, Beyond The Iron Sea ("A collection of lies, mis-information and childish humour" as Mr Timothy Rice-Oxley put it). All the band have contributed in various ways, and Tim even came to visit us in episode 31.
• September 2008 - organised An Evening with Beyond The Iron Sea, featuring the first public playback of the forthcoming third Keane album (organised event with label, band management, venue; promoted event; organised ticketing and event logistics; hosted the event; produced merchandise, programmes and questionnaires; produced followup website)

My interests include listening to music, seeing music live, and playing musical instruments. Over the past 16 years, I've picked up a collection of instruments (violin, piano, bass guitar, mandolin, drums, guitars electric and acoustic, theremin, stylophone) which I enjoy playing badly (I prefer not to inflict this upon anyone else. Well, apart from when dueting with one of my heroes, or 'remixing' a b-side for one of my favourite band's debut single). At school, I played crazy instruments like Guzheng and panpipes on occasion, and was relatively good at Yangqin (if anyone wants to buy me a hammered dulcimer, please go right ahead).

I don't have a myspace. Or a Facebook. Or Bebo. Or LinkedIn. Or any type of social networking thing. If you see 'keaneshaped' as a username (such as on YouTube, last.fm, Drowned In Sound etc) it's not me.

Actually, I'm currently working out how best to do this (any suggestions?), so bare with me. In the meantime, just feel safe in the knowledge that I love 30 Rock (TV), and these albums and films.

I also love David Ford, and even have a bootlegs site devoted to him - songsfromtheroad.co.uk (don't worry - it's condoned by artist and management, so isn't dodgy)
